God I'm glad to be out of that state. 

I was out partying with a friend for his 40th birthday when one of the people there asks me if I've ever been to Miami. I told them I hadn't but next year I am turning 30 and I should do something big for my birthday. I mentioned I'd never been to Vegas since I turned 21 and I'd also love to go to the keys since I live in FL. Everyone was talking it up saying how great the keys are and how it's crazy to not go to Vegas at least once. I've got almost a year to save and plan for it. I was getting really excited at the prospect of doing something big like that. Then it hit me. I really didn't like the idea of this being something that I would have to plan in its entirety and the other depressing thing is I have no one I could take with me. I'd have to go alone. That's just not the sort of thing that'd be fun to me doing alone. So, even though I have plenty of time to save and plan it's just not going to happen.

I know I don't post often but I still read often. I was just thinking today is rather exciting for obvious reasons but I'm even more excited because now I'm in a state where my vote might actually make a difference (FL for those that may not know). I'm anxious for 7:00 to roll around so I can start seeing some results.

This evening is going to be interesting.

Whew here comes an update.

Weekend before this I had a friend invite me to a Tegan and Sara concert. I'd hear them a good chuck on The Verge (XM radio station) so I decided I'd go. Well, the concert was on Monday, and the original plan fell all apart (because about 5ish people were going to go) and It ended up that just I and Arwyn (one of my coworkers) were the only ones going. Well, because of that we (I and Arwyn) decided to go to Islands of adventure before the concert.

Well, it was awesome. We ended up getting up at 5:00 am and drove the 2+hours to Orlando, and we got there about 20 minutes before opening time, but that meant that we got all the important rides out of the way within 1:50 minutes. I have never been on such intense roller coasters and it was so much fun.

As far as the concert, we spent about 4 hours in line (because Arwyn was intent on good seats). I have never seen so many lesbians in one room at one time (this is because Tegan and Sara are lesbian so they have a strong support from the gay community). The opening band was Northern State (think a female version of Beastie Boys) and they were surprisingly talented. I enjoyed the concert (being my first time for me) but Arwyn was disappointed because she felt they usually had much better audience interaction.

Fast forward to last Friday (the 16th) I went with Arwyn to the Lesbo A Go-go show at the Metro here. I was planning on having a ton-o-fun but I ended up getting so drunk that I've forgotten most of it and this pisses me off so much. I'm so tired of drinking to the point that I don't remember and I'm really starting to believe that it's a problem, so much so that I've decided to be sober for a while. What's the point in having a good time if you can't remember it?

On Saturday I went to see Beowulf with Arwyn and her wife and it pissed me off. The only reason I can understand why they decided to do it with CG was budgetary. If the decision was anything beyond that then whoever needed to re-think their ideas. I was surprised to see that Cripsin Glover played Grendel, but I still think it's fucking Awesome because I like Crispin Hellion Glover.

Well, as it comes down to it. I'm not too happy with what's going on in my life but I'm not unhappy enough to feel it's not all worth "it".

A friend of mine is only on AIM so one of us had to concede and either she had to install MSN messenger, or I had to install AIM. I decided to concede and all my usual usernames were already taken so I had to come up with a new one. I finally came up with one, and thankfully it wasn't taken.

I think I still find this name funnier then I probably should.
